Located about 1 hour from Chapelco airport, Quemquemtreu is a huge 160.000 acre ranch offering the chance to experience a different fly fishing trip, lodging in the main house of a traditional cattle and polo hourses breeding ranch.
An excellent "all inclusive" service with great cuisine and nice wines, and a very warm and relaxed ambience.
The main house offers 5 double bedrooms each one with private bathroom, a nice dinning room and a living room with a wide fireplace. 2 other rooms can be also used in an adjacent house.
A side barn has been turned into a great Bar where snacks and drinks are served every night after fishing. There is also a pool table for those who like to try their skills.....
Huge poplars, willows and pine trees provide cover for all the ranch structure formed by barns, corrals, polo courses, secondary houses that surround the Lodge. |

About 25 miles of the Collon Cura River run through Quemquemtreu's property. In addition, it provides access to more than 5 miles of the Caleufu river and to a smaller River which gives the name to this estancia.

| Most of the fishing is done drifting for full or half day, depending the weather conditions or personal preferences. Wading is always available, and for those who preffer not to cast from boats, or we can use the boats to float to the best fishing areas. |
Full days float include a full picnic, so whenever we get hungry, we stop the float and choose a nice spot to have lunch....

| THE COLLON CURA runs extense wide and flat valley, flowing slowly making it ideal to drift and wade fish the best runs. |
| A full day float is from 6 to 9 miles covering a lot of different water. A universe of channels, flat runs, fast waters, deep and slow pools, perfect cut banks and back eddies are great holding water for rainbows and browns. |
| Average size trout is probably 16", but trout over 22" are usually caught . Depending of the time of the season and the water flow, most of the fishing can be done with floating lines and fishing on the surface. |
| It's not uncommon to find a good number of rainbows surface feeding in huge back edies that won't hesitate to raise to a Parachute Adams or Royal Wulff |
| If the inch worms are falling from the willows or the minnows are moving in the shallows fishing can turn crazy caching from 20 to 60 trout during a full float, which of course its not a rule, but happens frequently when the river is ON. |
| The access to the fishing areas is easy using the ranches internal gravel roads. Depending the chosen destination for the day it can vary from 5 to 40 minutes |
| For those who enjoy wade fishing there are several runs and options easy to reach and very productive, including fishing the Quemquemtreu in early season, witch could bring a lot of action with dries. |
| From Late December to Early February is usually the best time to match the inch worms and from Mid February on, the minnows start to show in the river! |
